Happy Friday everyone! Many of you in the community will already be aware of the work of #CyberFirst in schools across the whole of the UK, including across Northern Ireland. The UK Government is now seeking views on the future of this important work and we would ask you to please take a few minutes to read through the proposals and share your views. I think we can all agree that we need a strong talent pipeline, so here's a chance to have a say in the way this is developed. https://lnkd.in/egN2PvdU

Understanding the human elements of cyber security and awareness is vital if we're to secure our essential infrastructure. This was the key takeaway from last night's Tech & Tipples session, kindly hosted by Laura Gillespie and Ben Gibbins at Pinsent Masons last night. Speaking to the theme of 'The Psychology of Cyber' our esteemed panel of Dr Louise O Hagan, Mark Hamill, Tanya Vacarda and Donnacha Kirk gave great insights into the ways that threat actors manipulate and exploit human behaviours to create opportunities for harm. How do seven start to tackle this? Attackers love urgency, they rely on it. Collectively, we need to develop a security first mindset, think before we act and slow down the pace of the attacker. Thank you so much to all of our participants and to our host for a really insightful evening. Until the next one...
